Solar deity Worship - Suryopanishad from Atharva Veda


                    It is customary to perform Panchaayatana puja daily among Hindu homes. It is a daily worship of the five deities viz., Ganesha, Shiva, Shakti, Vishnu and Surya (The Sun). Surya occupies a special status among these five deities because He is the only Pratyaksha Devata i.e. He is the only one Deity who is visible to the naked eye not based on any Anumanam (inference) or any other means of knowledge like Sabda etc.

                        The objective of another prescribed daily ritual, Sandhyaavandanam, is the worship of Surya during the Morning, the Mid Day and the Dusk. The Gayatri mantra recited during this ritual is the most sacred invocation to the Sun God praying for a Good Day similar to the modern “Good Day to You” type.

About Bhadrachalam temple and Surrounding Places

Bhadrachalam is a key town of Pilgrimage importance located in the Khammam District of Telangana. The temple town of Bhadrachalam is situated on the banks of Godavari River. It was part of East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh till 1959. The town is synonymous for its famous temple devoted to Lord Rama. Bhadrachalam Revenue division is considered one of the largest revenue divisions in the country, which was transferred to Khammam district of Telangana region for administrative purposes. 
According to history, Paleolithic man had roamed the areas, which is called the lower Godavari valley that includes Bhadrachalam and its surroundings. The History of Garlavoddu@ Garloddu Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Kalyanotsvams & Brahmotsavams !

This brief history   relates to Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Kalyanotsavam &Brahmotsavams  which has been going  at Garlavoddu Temple  since 1964 to till date i.e more than 61 years.This Temple situtes at Garlavoddu village, Enkuru Mandal , Khammam District, Telangana State, India.    The  Kalyanotsavam becomes  part of Brahmotsavam since 2001 . Earlier there was only Kalyanotsavam   which had been Conducting by the Founder Family Members of the Temple since 1964 to Till Dwajastambha pratishta made year i.e 2001.  After Founder Trustee Charge has been taken by Sri Maddigunta Narasimha Rao in year 2000, Dwajastambha Pratishta held under his Founder Trustee Ship in the year 2001  and since that year,  Kalyanotsavams has been conducting as part and parcel of Brahmotsavams. Every Year Brahmotsavams First day after completion of  Evening sessions  Homam Kalyanotsavam has been performing. Thus Kalyanotsavam becomes part of the Brahmotsavams.
